Expansion Joints In Aquarium Applications
Expansion joints can be used in aquariums to help with movement in the piping system while containing pressure and the medium flowing through it. They can help with a variety of issues, including:
- Temperature changes – Expansion joints can help protect against damage caused by seasonal temperature variations.
- Pressure changes – Expansion joints can help protect against damage caused by pressure changes from loading and unloading the tank.
- Vibrations – Expansion joints can help protect against damage from vibrations caused by pumps or hard piping.
- Piping misalignment – Expansion joints can help accommodate offsets in the piping system.
